Access to Education
Community Leadership Education is a critical aspect of the work Los
Niños does along the U.S./Mexico border.
As a result of our experience in this complex region, Los Niños
realized that access to educational opportunities produces shifts
in consciousness, which in turn produce changes in attitudes and practices.
These changes then lead to significant improvement in the quality
of life.
Training Areas
The Community Leadership Education programs provide training in vital
areas of community development such as: leadership, nutrition, organic
agriculture, health, business development, and community organizing.
The Promotoras
Our Community Leadership Education programs are targeted to low-income
community members and outreach workers called promotoras. Los Niņos
offers a credentialed program for outreach workers through a collaboration
with Ibero-America and Simon Fraser Universities: Women, Poverty,
and Education in Mexico. |
